“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” Romans 8:32 (NKJV)
Last week, I had an interesting conversation with my good friend about Easter. We found ourselves reminiscing about what it felt like growing up—how Easter, unlike Christmas, often felt a little boring. As a child, I couldn’t understand why Easter didn’t seem to have the same excitement or festive energy. Where were the lights, the carols, the presents? Why didn’t Easter feel as joyful as Christmas? With my limited understanding as a child, these were some of the things that went through my mind.
With time, this perspective began to change. As I’ve grown in my faith walk, I’ve come to have a deeper and more experiential understanding of Easter. I realize now that Easter is the real celebration and the core of our faith. Think about it: what if Jesus had been born, but never died for us? What if we were still responsible for paying the price of our sins ourselves? It’s unimaginable.
To me, Easter now means…
- Love
- Hope
- Life
- That God is a promise keeper
- That God is faithful and true
- That God does not lie, fail or forget.
I guess I now love Easter so much i’m writing about it. And in the spirit of the season, I’ve been listening to this easter playlist, and one of my favorite songs on it says “Friday is good ‘cause Sunday is Coming”. The first time I heard it, those words jumped straight from my ears into my heart, and have stayed with me since then.
We all have those Friday/Saturday moments in our lives- seasons of uncertainty, pain or just silence. We often find ourselves in that difficult moment between Friday and Sunday and this looks different for each of us. For Jesus it was the period between His crucifixion and resurrection. For us, it might be the waiting between receiving a promise and seeing it fulfilled. God’s word to you today is “Sunday is Coming! And it will surely come.”
I know Friday can feel long and the Saturday might be painfully quiet, it seems like nothing is happening. But when Sunday comes, everything changes, you’ll see how God was working all along, fulfilling every word He ever spoke to you.
If Jesus died and rose again just as He said He would, then we can trust that every promise He has made to you will surely come to pass. What God starts He ALWAYS finishes. Jesus was just not born, he died. and it didn’t end there, He rose again! And the same power that raised Him from the dead is alive and at work in our lives today.
Scripture is full of prophecies about Jesus—many spoken centuries before His birth. Isaiah’s prophecy about the virgin birth, for example, was given over 600 years before Jesus came into the world. That’s long before Mary, her mother, or even her grandmother were born. If God fulfilled those promises in His perfect time, we can be confident that every promise He has made to us will also be fulfilled—no matter how long it takes. It won’t be 600 years (thankfully!), but even if it feels like it’s taking forever, hold on to God and watch it come to pass.
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry” – Habakkuk 2:3 (NKJV)
“Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass” – Joshua 21:45 (NKJV)
Because He lives, we have a hope that never disappoints. Let this Easter be a reminder to anchor your heart in that hope. Let it breathe new confidence into your spirit and strengthen your faith for the journey ahead. God loves you deeply. If He gave His Son for you, then nothing—absolutely nothing—is too hard for Him to do for you.
Sunday is Coming and It Changes Everything!
Happy Easter,
Yours in Hope and Confidence in Christ,

Tiwalade
