Valentine’s Day…
Red, white, maybe even pink. Roses, gifts, dates, proposals, surprises and maybe even surprise trips. All of these things are great, don’t get me wrong, but I just thought to remind you that there is a love that is greater than any love you’ll receive today, tomorrow or any other day from any mortal man. It’s the greatest love.
I know some people get carried away on the day by the different emotions and maybe the pressures, but I thought it would be a perfect day to remind you that there is a higher and better kind of love, the love of our Father, the Almighty God!
God loves you and I so much that He gave us the greatest gift of His son. John 3:16 (NKJV) Whatever gift anyone is getting today, I bet you no one around the world is giving a human being as a gift, let alone their only child. But God, in His indescribable love, gave us the greatest gift, the gift of His son Jesus. This by more than a billion times supersedes a brand new car, gold bars, diamonds or even an entire estate.
So, while you celebrate, remember there’s a higher and better love- the greatest love. If you desire to celebrate and for some reason, you’re not able to this year, I hope you remember that the one who loves you the most, has His eyes on you, remembers you, and will never leave nor forsake you. God already gave you the best gift that opens the door to every other gift you desire James 1:17 (NKJV).
Romans 5:8 (NKJV)– Before we loved God, he already loved us and sent His son to die for us. So what can we give him in exchange? The gift of our life and our living on earth. You can give him your life by believing in your heart that he loves you and Jesus died for you and by confessing same with your mouth Romans 10:9 (NKJV). We give him the gift of our living by producing fruit that is consistent with our repentance/salvation Matthew 3:8 (NKJV).
As you celebrate today, please remember to live for and honor the one who loves you the most and gave you the greatest gift today and always!
On another note…
Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not envy. Love does not boast.
Love is not proud. Love does not dishonor others. Love is not self-seeking.
Love is not easily angered. Love keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
Love always protects. Love always trusts. Love always hopes. Love always perseveres.
Love never fails.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 & 13 (NIV)
If the love you’re getting and celebrating today isn’t all or even any of the above, my dear brother and sister, God didn’t send His only begotten son for you to settle for a love that doesn’t mirror His love. If it’s marriage, I pray God makes the wine sweeter by His grace and mercy. If it’s a relationship, may the Holy Spirit give you wisdom and direction!
I’ll leave you with this valentine’s song I like. Whether it’s Valentine’s or Galentines you’re celebrating! Happy Valentine’s Day to all who celebrate!
Yours in God’s love,

Tiwalade
